How Chiropractors use Palpation to discover spinal problems...

Palpation is a Chiropractic Art

What do the words “palpate” or “palpation” mean?

Chiropractors use palpation to examine the spine, ligaments and muscles for the purpose of locating and reducing trigger points and nerve interference. The chiropractor’s hands feel exactly how and where the spine and muscles needs to be adjusted and massaged. Palpation is one of the first tools a chiropractor learns in chiropractic college, the basis for the art and science of chiropractic. The word chiropractic means, “done by hand.”

Chiropractic palpation is a skill that improves with practice. A chiropractor masters palpation in order to discover information that is contained in your body.
